Really loving that big blue sky and the way that the objects closest to the viewer have a more solid outline.
These are amazing and really inspiring... I almost want to make a platformer/rpg now.
Whoa, love the open space above it and the fact you're not afraid to include it.
Nice, especially the walls and the goat (?), but it does have a recycled feel to it, like Faceless said.
I find the ground beneath the character's feet a bit hard to read. Is that just soil not covered with vegetation?
I think an easy way to add a lot of depth to this one might be to raise the background slightly and put some high mountains on the far left, making the desert in front of the character seem even more baron by contrast. Never hurts to have some vegetation (vines, weeds) reclaiming rundown buildings either. Good stuff.
Faceless: That's reasonable, I see what you are saying. I'll come up with some objects to add on to it when I can.
Banding alert! (in the beams)
I agree it doesn't look near a town, rather like a ruined isolated farm. But I'm totally drawn into the steppe and to the mountains!
Huh? The walls are from Mockup I, the broken house from Mockup II, the barrels from I and II, and the sky is from I. As for what you can add, how about some evidence of more ruins in the background? This doesn't strike me as a ruined town. How about some animal bones, a ruined cart with barrels spilling out of it, some tumbleweed, or any other number of things to add some atmosphere?
I hope you're not taking this the wrong way, I just know from the other two pieces that you can do a lot better with this.
Well it's supposed to feel free and open, if that's what you mean. As far as new material, the walls are new, the weird animal is new, grass patches are new, the background is as well. I'm not sure as to what else I could add to it without it loosing it's sense of freedom.
This is definitely the weakest of the three. It's very flat and simply recycles from the other two mockups. I'd actually recommend going back to the drawing board on this one. It's not even that this is bad, it's that the other two make it look bad by comparison.
I love these, recognized it was yours from the preview immediately.
Very pleasing to the eyes, congrats!
