This is a really old comment, but back then I had no idea how to check the colour count, so I manually counted it. Thank you very much for the reccomendations :>
Also, if you intended to make a scene lighted by a fireplace, a contrast between the light and the dark parts of a picture should be higher.
the balls in the front have an overly "boxy" shade pattern. I'd consider removing them completely - they take away from the scene.
The floor should be simpler (remove 1 color, maybe)?
I like the fireplace animation. Overall, each item has too much contrast, too many dark spots (the presents and the floor, especially).
I agree that it doesn't look like 61 colors.
there are 78 colours >_> Wasn't too far off the bat, but still, too many for a 70x50 piece. oh my first attempts at pixel art.
