Needed an avatar. This is my first submission, and I'm more programmer than artist, so go easy.

Overall, I'm happy with my first spin effect. There are things I like and things I don't like, but at this point I'd have to start a new piece to fix the CoM errors.

Here are some WIPs, at 4x zoom: WIP1 WIP2

To animate, I started with a single fully-shaded frame. Then I duplicated and flipped it horizontally, and tried to extract 3d information from the two. I added a block colored frame in between, and then went frame-by-frame. Added shading, fixed a few issues, and called it done.

I see little mistake on arm but this is hand made! this is not 3D its so good bro =)

Heh. I'm in a similar boat. Definitely still a newb with large-scale, environments, etc.

I can see three errors in this piece right off the bat, but I won't list them because I don't want to draw peoples' eyes there. It can be a fun game for anyone that can spot them!

...maybe I'm being too critical... It's one of those things you can't unsee, though.

nice =) I have so much to learn...

I cant see a single mistake here.

Thanks philippejugnet. I actually just used the process I described above, though. Flipping a sprite horizontally really helps to extract 3d information from it.

On this piece, though, it's fun to hold down [>] in GraphicsGale (cycle frames fast). That's partially how I checked the 3d for "bumps".

perfect! I am thinking on starting creating 3D models on max then pixel it so its perfect 3D like you did =)

Thanks @Flonkon. You've got a great spin cycle going too!
