Thank you for the advice! I'll definitly be keeping these points in mind when I begin work on my next project.
Hmm, I'm not really "experienced" but, my thoughts;
- Love the colours
- Love the basic shapes and composition
- Dithering might be improved by using other shapes aside from the traditional checkerboard (circle dithering is always nice but I don't have an example to hand right now)
- AA (anti-aliasing) just in a few spots might help make places like the rim appear smoother (it's a hard thing to explain, but look for curves and place a colour that's in between the two at the end of any line longer than one px, as you don't want the AA to equal the same length as whats already there - I'm sure there are some tutorials around that could explain that idea better than me haha)
- And you've avoided pillow shading since there's a definite light source, so yay :D haha There's some good tutorials around that can help to illustrate some other ideas but you've used a few good techniques already, so great start ^^
