Mmm... Ordairu (he's the one who loves to say "shoot and i'll move") used to play Touhou, so maybe there was a ref (not that I knew of) ^^

You're right, actually i too think the white background doesn't fit well...
First, i'd tried to put transparency, but with the default PJ background -dark grey- the readability of the outlines wasn't great. 
I'm gonna give another try with the transparency though, to see if people like it better.
(I hope my English is understandable, it's not my mother thongue ^^')

I was thinking "Oh, these are official Pokemon trainer quality sprites", clicks, and BAM! Pokemon! Great work.
Two admins of the pokewebsite i'm working at asked me to pixel them and their fav pokemon in this style, but it's gonna take looong... so I guess a team is not possible for the moment lol

These are wicked sexy, great take on the pokemon style, but the bigger size was a good choice. Would love to see more like these, maybe a whole team?
