 I had originally meant to use this as my first submission to last weak's challenge, but computer malfunctions didn't let me complete it. So, i guess I might as well post it anyways.

Please criticize this work and any comments are appreciated. This is my first submission and i'm still a beginner.

btw, i know it's 24 colors. I added the shadow and the background after the competition was over.

 Excuse me PixelIvan, but hat no nice, maybe you should tell Charles what needs improving rather that saying you dont like it with athrow up face.... I think it's great, but maybe more aa on the right and less banding on the left of the pawn. Good color choices and background has perfect aa.

i like how clearly this image reads at actual size, and the use of a small image to depict something small. i'm not an expert on dithering, but i think you did a decent job.
