i really like the shades and colors you chose, as well as the stained glass windows, overall a very nice piece, i agree with jes1305 in it making me think of banjo kazooie :)
other than what was already stated by others, i really like it
kinda reminds me of banjo kazooie lol
Good point Joe/Wrath ... I guess I was thinking a perspective/iso-like view. Angels/God view...lol I guess I should think about the viewer more. Thanks for the insight.
I like the perspective, but whenever do we go to those altitudes to watch a building and its setting? From a close mountain or maybe from a room window close by? Try to use the perspective conciously from where you imagine the spectator, otherwise we all turn into frogs, angels, gods and so forth. It could also give you a more complex narrative than just the depicted object/scenario.
Very cool, you've got the lighting down to a T, the composition and the perspective is great but I can't help but feel that some parts of this piece are a little hard edged. for instance the bottom of the roof, the (non existant but of course it doesn't need one..) outline of the trees and the shadow on the ground all feel like they could use some AA loving.
i also can't help but feel that the top left tree's shadow is a little awkward, ic an see you were trying to show that the ground is raised there, but it looks a little like you simply drew the shadow askew. *Shruggs*
Otherwise, great piece. I like it.. =)
Love it. It's reminding me of something, but I can't place it... The stained glass is really pretty and makes the building feel 'lively' with the light coming from within. Despite the dark colors, it doesn't seem the least bit dismal. Nice job on the brick with the perspective, too!
I love those little gravestones
Thanks jal. My progress is slow, but I'm aware of it. That is a good idea though to do a remake.
Your pixelling of natural areas and landscapes just keep improving so much. This scene, especially the trees, shows quite the improvement over your more scrappy pixelling of days past.
*Soon you'll need to remake an old piece of yours so you can see your own progress for yourself*
Really nice!!.
