A pixel of my RAcaseal from the PSO2 closed beta, Jubilee. She is a robot who shoots things.
I'm learning a little about AA techniques lately. Like using the color I used to shade her skin around the orange parts of her armor, and the dark purple of her hair on her skin. I feel like I'm learning more about reusing colors with every piece I make
Sometimes you just don't reuse a color much, though - like the pale color used on the whites of her eyes, the star on her shoulder, and the meseta (yellow diamond) under her foot. It feels like it has the least purpose out of any of the colors used, but it's necessary for the picture anyway. I could've probably used it to highlight the orange parts of her armor, but they have a very distinct neon glow ingame - I didn't want to make it look 'shiny'.
I think maybe I'm trying too hard to keep my color count down lately. |
thanks a lot for the critique! Yeah, it's definitely low on contrast - I've been getting better at color count but it's still difficult for me to actually pick palettes
I might try tweaking the colors around to try and get a better sense of contrast, but it might require redoing a lot of the piece, honestly... and if I'm already tired of looking at it then maybe it'd be better to just make a new one, haha. Thank you!
