i dont seee the difference between this and others on this site its far better then some of the ones i have seen been put through
Sorry, but this isn't what pixel art is. This is actually called "oekaki", which is basically pixelated work that lacks the technique which makes pixel art what it is.
If you want to get a clear definition of what pixel art is, please refer to http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299. If you are still confused as to why this piece won't be allowed into the gallery, please PM me and I will explain myself better.
(This comment refers to all your gallery work)
Please refer to http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11299 (As previousily suggested).
In the "Table Of Contents:" select "What is pixel art?" (Or scroll down), it should be the first catagory there. The best quote in there in regards to this piece is "This is what we call oekaki. If you can create the image without zooming in, chances are it isn't pixel art. If you're using the line tool and flood-fill most of the time, you're not paying attention to the individual pixels, just the lines and shapes that the pixels make up. The same goes for rough sketches made with the pencil or brush tools. These methods ignore the importance of careful, deliberate placement of the individual pixels."
It doesn't matter on your opinion as what is "far better" compared to the work that have been put through - This is not pixel art, theirs is, regardless of how much better you believe your work is.
As for criticism on the work itself (Disregarding that it's not pixel art), it's very flat, the light source is inconsistant throughout, and the line work alone is messy.
My suggestion is you take this into the "Work In Progress" section of the forum to gather criticism to improve this piece and get it through the gallery. You could start by scailing this piece down significantly so you won't have to deal with large empty patches of color everywhere.
I hope I don't demotivate you, I'm just trying to help.
