you seem to be a very hostile person especially about this... i'm not lying so please stop attempting to convict me when i sat here and saw this being made, of course its not properly pixelled neither of us have any background in pixelling!!! i've beendoing this for about a month, and she has for well, i think 3 days, this was the only piece she ever has done, which i think i stated before, i'm not good enough yet to critique her work, which is why it was posted.
I'm not going to explain myself over everything this was done by someone close to me i know how it was done it meant alot for people to see it, but seems like people go way out of their way to "prove" their point...
I 'm trying to be positive here man, i told you it wasnt an editted pic (which it wasnt) and you can believe me or not, you obviously dont so drop it, the piece didnt make it through, so i'm not sure someone as high up as yourself on the site is still arguing about a rejected piece anyways.
and finally i'm sure people here have good intentions, thats why i'm on this site, i'm attempting to get good with my pixelling and know with the help of the comminuty here i can get better much quicker, but nice try with the deceiving people with good intentions, i'm not here to make enemies, just for the love of pixelling.

Anyone with a bit of knowledge and training in digital graphics will be able to spot this is not properly pixelled.
You say she saved it as a jpg, and that is where the antialias comes from? Why are there only jpg artefacts in certain places? Why not everywhere? Why are there sharpening halos in some places? All this makes it look like a doodle over a photo.
Look at this level adjustment here and tell me that it does not look like a jpg someone doodled over and then saved as a png and I will tell you you are lying.
It is pretty bad to try and decieve people who have good intentions, such as the makers of this site and the general audience here.
ok man we can argue about this all day but that would be pointless, i know for my personal benefit that she did this by hand with no tracing/editing the original, and you can believe me or not, the fact that there are so many colors IS because she saved it as a jpg, which is the aa around the ednges and massive color count and all, i forgot to tell her png/gif/bmp only with pixels when she was working on it, and the original project file is gone unfortunately so that all we have, i'm happy she posted it because ppl will atleast see her work, and thats whats important isnt it? i mean isnt the whole point of pixel art that you have fun with it and express yourself? i mean it is ART isnt it? and art is all about expression... this was her very first piece and as such i thought it was quite well personally.
so i'm not trying to fight with you or argue about anything, you can say it was traced or copied or whatnot and thats fine, but i assure you it most definately is not or i wouldnt be spending the time to type all this brother. so thats all i gotta say about it man take it or leave it... best wishes
It lines up very, very with the original if you overlay them. Of course she could have very good hand/eye coordination and be awesome at copying stuff. If so why is it so sloppy then?
Pixelart is about precision, I do not see much precision here at all. On closer inspection I even see what looks very much like jpg artefacts around the shoulders which would be a telltale sign of modifying a greyscaled source image (which was a jpg).

well i call bullshit on your bullshit, as i watched her make this, this was her first pixelart image that was completed, and while it does use alot of colors indeed, i can guarantee you this was done by hand, and yes that was the reference, but NOT a trace
for one of your first completed pieces i think you did an excellent job, and im proud of you :)
If you or her want to get better at pixelling I suggest to post in the forums. The gallery is usually a place for finished pieces (which does not exclude critique and sometimes changes being made to "finished" work).
I doubt that any of the mods here is discussing this much. If it was not rejected on grounds of being a trace it was on grounds of simply being very, very sloppy.
If you feel I am being hostile, I might appear so, but believe me it is very frustrating to have people come into a community which you run (not PJ, but Pixelation) and try to pass rips, copies, traces, edits, whatever as their own work without even citing a source and thinking people are dumb enough to fall for it.
Saying you did something yourself when you copied it is deceptive, and you are also deceiving yourself more than anything. You wont grow as an artist from doodling over something someone else has made and you wont gain respect for it either.
I am not a mod here, but I like this place and there are a lot of good people on it, many of who helped me with nice crits.
Also why can't jes1305 defend herself, why does she need you to do it? Anyway, I think we can put this ad acta and move on. As already stated before, I strongly suggest you to use the forums if you want to improve and get good critique.
