i don't understand the pose at all..
Still looks cute, the face is well made, overall the colouring and form is quite good and I think that's what saves this from being a train wreck for me.
i agree with jellybean on this one. anatomy needs lots of work.
good luck!
I really like the shading on the skirt! It has a nice feeling of weight to it. I've always had trouble with skirts, pleated especially. The shirt shading isn't bad either, aand the face is cute.
As for crits, though, the arms are fairly thin and the way the arm tapers into the hand looks weird on the viewer's right arm. Good on you for drawing hands at all (some artists hide the hands behind the back to avoid drawing them...) but the hands look very small also - hands, proportionally, tend to be large enough that they can cover a human face - try placing your open palm and fingers over your face. Of course, one has to factor in anime stylization and the fact that big heads are A Thing in anime, which means that if you made the hands proportionally big enough to cover her face they'd probably look way too big! But they still look too small, imo.
In addition to being too thin, the arms are too short - at present state the elbows fall roughly at the breasts and the fingertips would reach maybe the bellybutton or a little below it. On a normal individual, elbows line up with the waist (right about the bellybutton) and wrists line up about with the crotch, fingertips easily reach past it. Again, anime proportions, but if her arms were at her sides rather than outstretched it'd look really weird.
NSFW if your boss hates artistic nudes but here's a proportion chart.
The proportions in general are a little strange here - the torso feels very long for both the legs and the arms. The legs feel too short and stocky for her thin and long torso, and the way she's standing also looks somewhat uncomfortable. Women's thighs are generally not thicker than their waists unless they're Chun Li.
If you wanted to alter any of these things, I guess I'd recommend continuously eyeing a proportion chart like the one I linked to make sure everything lines up okay and adjust the lengths of arms/legs/torso until they look correct. The pose looks a little strange, so maybe put something in her hands (it looks like something's in each hand already, but I can't tell what it is) or adjust her arm placement (hands on her hips, perhaps) to look a little less awkwardly posed if you wanted to change that. Anime stylization, by its nature, makes some pretty weird anatomy issues (like massive heads and tiny mouths) look fine, but it still has to play by some rules of proportions or it looks weird.
Hope this helps!
woooow, thank Jellybeanfish, I was never good with anatomy, this piece really was full of errors, I must study more XD
