you mean black outline throughout? Here, I liked it to not use in on the buildings, but, say the set of stones above the forklift were a pile of mess without outlines. I have to work on the dithering.
Thanks once more.
Hi.
To my mind, you need to make a choice black outline or not. Dithering or not it's important to keep consistency for a detailed illustration.
But keep working this way. You have the ideas. ;)
I wasn't sure about the colors. i didn't even know there was a forum about work in progress, so I probably should have posted it in there, and then give it another go at the colors, or the details. I have to find a way to refine the palette, I guess it depends on what mood I want? I wanted this to be more a bright sunny day, so I picked light colors and try to add a lot of shadows.
The water I am not sure about how to do it, I tried to give is some sort of movement, but again, maybe the colors are off. The trees probably need more detail, so I'll try that.
I have to look up some info on how to use colors.
Thanks for all the input.
not bad.
but the trees and bushes look like cardboard cutouts left standing.
the water looks kinda stange for me, bt it's not bad.
i like the town hall building. i dunno why.maybe because of the colors. nice job.
Well, I do not like isometrics, but his work is quite nice. I just think that in his work has a lot of saturation, and a palette very weak. Review your color, test and try to give a stability in his work, not only in relation to colors, as in all the pixel art, it comes to textures, techniques and so on. Come on!
(sorry for my english)
I made building after building, so I guess you could figure the sequence, as I went along, I played around with more stuff, adding curves, glass, etc, making things more involved. So there is a learning/experimenting process throughout. I didn't really know where to place them exactly before I started to put all the building together on one image, so I sometimes think things might be too hectic, or the colors are not matching.
Where is the lighting off and which colors don't match? I am never quite sure about the colors, I guess I have to try using the color wheel to find matches. Also, some shadows are tricky I thought.
I used black outlines in the areas that are in the shade, but with the smaller objects, it gets inconsistent, as I found sometimes the black was too much. There I only used it when there were many objects together (like the stones).
Looks decent. You created this on your own, correct? I ask because there are a lot of inconsistencies throughout. ie: Some buildings have black outlines, while others are shaded according to lightsource and much of the objects and some buildings don't have any outlines, the lightsource is off in many places and some color combinations are well done while others are too saturated).
MAN, it's fantastic! But why police station is green?)
