DawnBringer: Right on the spot! I found out that in order to mask the colorbugs due to restriction of the native c64 mode, one could easily produce a layering with lines or diagonal or a set of combinations or superimposed repetitive patterns. I'm still in the process of finding new ways in order not to be caught in a convention and in order to not be followed by imitators ;)

A personal opinion: It would have been even better if there was some poisonous smoke coming out of the bowl. It would have boosted the acidic feel and give it a more hazardous look.
You seem to have saved the images in some funky way (making the filesize x20 larger)...resave as PNG8 plz.
Btw. I love your work, very interesting techniques of mixing dithers & patterns, and masking subdithers with supertextures.
good job. as always, but have to agree with Theoden - some FX like smoke could make it even better
