This is pretty old, but it was my first decent runnign animation, and i had fun with the character.  Done for an old project that i left.

This was drawn on Dec. 24th 2004, so its quite old, and i included mostly for nostalgia, as i said it was my first decent running animtion.

This was hardly my first piece, I started doing pixel art when I was 10 (in 2000) so by 14 I had had some practice.  I would still however consider it very early.  I didn't really start thinking about how pixels worked together until this piece.

I Myself have issues with running/walking animations, or smooth movement in general, so i really cant tell you how to fix the un-fluidness of it, but i can tell you as a static, unanimated image, it looks great. If i could ask anything, it'd be to give the character a wee bit more contrast, as he seems as though he only has two shades of each color, when in reality he has more.

Yes the main problem with it is that i made the animations as though he was running straight at the camera (d'oh!) as opposed to on the plane he would be running on in-game.  That and the animation is really stiff, i was going for military discipline, but it ended up just being lame ^^

who knows, i might edit this at some point, now that i know a bit more

good design, but it looks a wee bit funky. It could be that it there is not a lot of indication of running. The foreshortening of the legs and arms aren't exactly on par with other running animations. Maybe the fact that the body and head are so stiff also take away from the idea of a normal run...a little more work with it and you'll get there sooner or later..I know I suck at it but I'm still trying...
