Not sure if it reminds me of paint or ink swirls but it's so rich and textured. Really love this~!
Thank you all!
Mr. Fahrenheit, I've never tried that technique before. Could you possibly link me to tutorials?
I watched that episode about 2 days ago...epic character :)
I really like the style, it looks like you used actual brush strokes as opposed to pixels. Well done!
Its awesome the way you have pinched of the pixels on the left wing, makes it pop. Great piece.
I think this and you most of your other artwork could greatly benefit from anti-aliasing. Besides that these and all the rest are amazing!
Wow this is so unique. Your style is odd you use wierd colors but it works out so well. It has a creepy feel to it, but a good creepy feel haha
anti-aliasing is a HUGELY acknowledged technique in pixel art. It is basically using transitionary colors to smooth lines and edges, which also naturally lets us make curves and round shapes and soft lines, especially at small sizes. Without aliasing, we couldn't do something like this at this size: i.imgur.com/Y1q8l.png
Grey is a naturally good color for AA, but one can get creative with AA. For example, you can make a black line smooth on a white background not just with greys, but with colors such as medium red, green etc. When AA'ing you need to first look at the color of the line you want to smooth, and then the color solor it or the background color.
In your drawing, on the left side of the owl you have some dark blue pixels against the bright red circle. To AA the left wing for example, you could use colors in between the dark blue and bright red, such as the medium orange, or greys and so on. Just experiment. Here's an example of what your image might look like with a tad of AA on the rough edges. Also, I demonstrated how you might AA the red circle if it were against a red BG: i.imgur.com/Bae1H.png
Personally, I think your style works great WITHOUT AA at all
