Lovely pony! Y'know Pixeljoint has a zoom function? No need for the 2x pixels, but unless you prefer us to view it like that then it's fine.
mm, "hater" comments have apparently been removed before this made it into the daily gallery ^_^ Twilight is amused at this finding.
In fact, I dunno if I should even post my pixels here at all. If people won't shut up about how they hate ponies, then it's just sticking on deviantArt solely.
Papermoon, I played around the shading a bit, and the three shades seemed to add the best contours to the body; with two, I was only able to outline the bright spots, even with AA. As for the "weird way with 5 shades", I'm not sure what you mean :P

i dunnow man... i don't approve of the "3 variations of shading" you use.... (actually' you're even using 5, but in a very odd way..) o_O that looks wierd... why not try to use simply 2+ some AA ?
and the eyes... why didn't you... uch.. anyway, neat pony...
I think Papermoon is talking about how you have like 3 main shades + 2 buffer shades.. as in:
main shades : A B C
buffer shades : AB BC
Then you use AB and BC just to antialias between areas, and not at all for shading in their own right.
The overall effect of that is to give a 'clay-like'/oily rendering. It's very distinctive. I haven't decided whether I like or dislike it, really. It's just a thing. It's good to consider that you need different types of shading on different materials, though.. for example this 'clay-like' rendering is probably more effective on Twilight's body, whereas a more evenly distributed, sharp rendering is suitable for mane+tail.
oh, btw, selout is not a separate thing to do.. well, see this link if you haven't already. Fortunately, you haven't really overdone the selout here, so it wouldn't be much of a change to un-selout the few parts that suffer from it.
