Nice work with the overall stance and tone of the monster, it looks scerene yet immovable. The sumo belt and staff give it more of that oriental feel that can be seen in a lot of yokai monsters which make it feel more authentic. In this way it reminds me a lot of the "block head" monster from Okami except yours has legs and it doesnt have a rain roof. In any case well done.

Reminds me of "Bernd das Brot" (German for "Bernd the bread"), a German children's TVcharacter ;)

Hey, someone noticed. Glad you like it, I thought it would be neat to have a creature thats only purpose is to block paths, holding a staff with a gate on it.

The arms are spheres, just like the legs.

 Great concept and character, Im not too happy with the arms, their shading resembles spheres, and not squares
