Another mock-up of the same retro action RPG game that I made previously. This one uses the NES palette again, but doesn't use the color restrictions on the objects / characters. I believe I adhere to the 4-color limit for the tiles, though.
The large hole in the center and the water to its right are two different ways to render something that'd kill you when you walk over it, so I'm not sure which I'd choose in practice - maybe both. The water's cool, but I don't really know how I'd animate it, per se. In any case, I like the way it ended up.
I think I might need to make this game now. :) |
