Wasn't supposed to be bashing... (i'm not sure how this was supposed to sound, i don't understand irony). Don't want to hurt anyone, when I started, my shading was much worse than yours ;D The "pile of poo" wasn't supposed to be offensive and no metaphora for a bad pixel art, just described what I see in this picture :D I would give you more constructive critic if I could, but i'm no theoretical expert, it's more about getting a feeling for it... i'm sure, that you can improve a lot, just keep it up :)

 You have to practice a lot more... would look much better, if you could see actual garbage forming a monster instead of a pile of poo with legs. The shading should be improved too, there will be a lot of people that will complain about it if you keep this style.
