Inspired by Sonic 2 HD project. No one seems to have done Sonic Adventure style HD sprite, decided to give it a shot. Zero colour restriction means this is a billion (175+) colours. At least I dithered a bit.

Breakdown:

- As stated above, largely based on Sonic's appearance circa 1999 (long, floppy spines, obnoxious grin).

- There are also a few classic elements thrown in here and there, such as his rounder torso and spindly legs.

- Where this design diverges from most iterations can be seen in the longer legs and longer, upright ears, both meant to serve to emphasise a hare-like sense of motion and alertness. Also, an added clasp to the belt buckle.

- Somewhat unfortuneately, I've rendered his forehead a little larger than it should be along the way.

I would like to go further with this, but then, I don't know how sustainable it is, and given my work ethic...

Critiques are welcome and greatly appreciated (as well as praise, of course...).

Ah. I see now. I drew the strap too close to the sock, making the front look longer than it should.

Well. Doesn't look like this is getting approved anytime soon. Shame.

@ phillipejugenet

Hey, I thought anything made in MS Paint and mouse is automatically pixel art...So I played fast and loose with the colour count. It happens...right?

@ Hiuru

Good catch. You obviously look like a guy who knows what he's talkking about. I may shave off a couple pixels off the front of that foot.  I'll have to take another look.  On the other hand, I really want his feet to be longer to convey elasticity, especially when he's running, like in his Sonic 3K sprite and his depiction  the official artwork of the Sonic Adventure era.

I really like it. It almost seems to have no hand made dithering. But if this is 100% pixelart congratulations! ...I'll not rate after the admins accept this piece.

how exactly do you refine an image on a pixel level with 176 colors?? Just curious

Looks sweet! Don't you think his left foot/shoe is a little too long? Seemed okay the first time i looked at it but the more i stared at it the more it bugged me lol doesn't matter too much i guess but still, nice job!
