And little Jimmy rolled his third consecutive natural twenty and decapitated the dragon that was terrorizing the village! the d20, no good geek leaves hom without it. I really wanted to number all the sides, but quickly realized it's too small to do that. It still has the important number.

The lighting does seem odd to me, because each side is individually shaded. They shouldn't have one edge with a highlight (especially not a bottom edge if the light is above) and don't need individual shadows. Each side should be a single solid color. :)

how so? The light source was supposed to be from the top. Any suggestions for how I could fix it?

The symetry doesn't look fine in this dice. Try using better light effects according to the source.
