I see two blue walls, or two empty pools.... =p
I've never tried to draw water tiles, but I think you shouldn't use straight lines and blocks to texturize liquids. I'd take a look at other works. Also, I don't know if you're who chose these colors, but I just don't like them. The shading on the columns is "dirty" because of them. Use more harmonized ones, if possible.
I've fixed up the water (I think).
I'll do the shadows later, but I'm not sure they're entirely necessary. Do you mean having the pillars cast shadows, or exaggerating the lighting?
Nice colours, but what happened with the water(it is flat fill clor!) and where shadows ?
Look gas13.ru/v3/tutorials/sywtbapa_de-mystifying_greats_1.php
The blocks were meant to be the bricks at the bottom of the pool, but I guess that didn't come through. I've edited the water again, hopefully it looks better.
I also changed the colors a bit- I was trying to harmonize a red ramp with a brown ramp before, but I guess that didn't work quite as nicely as intended.
