Lovely grass. But, I think you could add dithering, in the sky.
I really love the peaceful atmosphere of your pixels thus far. Keep at it! Want to see more!
Well, it's more or less what MikauKahn said, but with the entire picture: The lack of details in the foreground and the "excess" in the bg (if you compare with the fg) is basically what makes me think it's unfinished. Maybe you could have done the opposite, or chosen to let everything minimalistic or shaded. Another reason is that you didn't use any color to highlight parts of the grass or bushes/trees, which would give the piece a very fresh look. The last reason I can remember is that - I don't know if it's a matter of care of style - the shapes are a bit inconsistent in the bushes that are more defined (imo), that is, no outlines or shades separate each leaf from another (but, as I said, there's no problem with it, maybe it's just style).
The picture isn't bad at all, but these edits would be cool!
The detailed, outline-lessness of the background contrasts with the cell shaded (with outline) character in the front.
If you made him shaded without a background, but still stand out by using good colors, I think that it would look much better.
Besides some minor edits I have nothing else to add to this piece. Do you mind telling me what about it looks unfinished to you? I've been having trouble with this piece but can't seem to figure out what the problem is (´ヘ`; )
I like this palette and trees details very much .. very nice job
Absolutely love the mood this scene creates, the soft tones of the midground, and unusual sky, contrasting with those dark trees on the sides. This is better then sword & sworcery
Nice to hear. And btw: I don't agree to Dr D's comment, the yellow is totally fine for me. I'm just not sure about the two tree silhouettes, maybe it would look better without them or if you shorten one of them. Now, they have the same height and shape which looks kinda boring.
@Dr D : Thank you for the feedback! Couldn't put my finger on what was wrong here; what you said makes a lot of sense!!
Really like it, looks like an oldschool RPG. Is this for a game or just for fun?
The only part of this picture I don't like is the mid-ground bushes with the yellowish highlights. I feel like the rendering there could be better and more on par with the rest of the picture. There's also a lot of banding in that area too.
That aside, I find the picture to be beautiful. The colors, the composition, the little story the piece tells.
Lovely mood!
