From the future!

I made this a year ago. I'm not really comfortable with large pieces, So probably there's a lot of stuff to correct. Maybe one day I'll come back to improve it.

@Chris_Devl, I have a blog: http://leandrodavel.blogspot.com.ar

I have some pixel art there but also my regular stuff (npa).

Thanks a lot for the comments : D

I really like your style, very gritty.

And the character in the distance, great way to add backstory.

You should upload more often.. Do you have a website or something? I'd love to see what else you've made.

 The clouds!

user
JerryPie (Level 11 Godfather) @ 8/24/2012 21:23

love the sand dunes

user
Fizzick (Level 1 Gangster) @ 8/24/2012 11:40

Those dunes are really incedible like all else said, but the whole piece suffers because of the black outlines and the oversized survivor. I am so going to imitate those dunes, though. You've inspired me to do some Post-Apoc stuff!

user
fawful (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 8/24/2012 11:12

dem dunes

DragonDePlatino (Level 5 Detective) @ 8/23/2012 18:37

Fantastic and quite atmospheric. The only obvious problem I can see is that your post-apocalyptic man is way too big for the gas station...other than that I can notice that your coloring style for the gas station reminds me of Mother 3. You also did a top notch job on the background. It would be great if you could make a tutorial on how to do great sand dunes like that.

user
Noburo (Level 5 Captain) @ 8/23/2012 14:26

I personally like the use of the black lines. It remind me a lot of the art style used in Borderlands, which I absolutely love. That being said, I think that you really could go either way with the borders being either colored or black.

OMG! Beautiful!

user
_Connor (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 8/23/2012 04:18

 That landscape is incredible!

user
Iceberg (Level 5 Killer Klown) @ 8/23/2012 01:22

Those sand dunes are good, but I don't like your black outlines.

user
Theoden (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 8/23/2012 01:08

I agree with "Buddy90".

user
Buddy90 (Level 6 Manager) @ 8/22/2012 20:03

Looks great! But the preview doesn't do it justice.

user
Partack (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 8/22/2012 19:26

 It's the road warrior! =D

Someone made a custom survival map in left4dead2 of EXACTLY this. =D

Very awesome. good job

user
Ashkin (Level 8 Rear Admiral) @ 8/22/2012 19:17

Those dunes are beautiful <3

user
LeD (Level 1 Thug) @ 8/22/2012 18:09

@rayovatron: Yeah, at that time I tended to do all the outlines black. It took me some time to learn that it isn't always the best option. Thanks for the guide! It's awesome : D

@solarlune: Thanks man! Yeah, the props ended up too small : /, but I'll revisit this piece someday and try to correct those errors.

user
SolarLune (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 8/22/2012 17:22

Yeah, I would go with a different ouline color, and do some hue shifting to make the props feel more in the desert. The props are a little small for the character, as well. Really a very cool job, though!

user
Rayovatron (Level 6 SWAT) @ 8/22/2012 14:34

Not sure about the black outlines. Maybe that can help you  http://www.dragonflycave.com/recoloring.aspx

user
LachieD (Level 1 Depressed) @ 8/22/2012 14:18

 Love the sand dunes.

user
dianinhas (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 8/22/2012 13:31

I really like the way the sand dunes and the clouds turned out. Great job!
