So the story behind this is that it was made for a Ludum Dare game; the blug effectively reproduces and then disappears (game-explanation is that it's getting sent back up to their mothership, there's another animation that plays on top of the one that disappears to message that). You might notice the highlights and shadows shifting on the new blug; since I was doing everything in 48 hours I didn't feel like redoing all of the highlights and shadows for movement in the opposite direction and simply flipped the frames (lazy, I know, but time-saving). I didn't want to lose the consistent light source while both blugs were visible (since that might draw too much attention to it), so I had the new one pop up with the same light source and then animated the light source to its' proper place (a la the flipped frames). |
