There's awesomeness here. I wish you spend some time on it and polish it after the challenge.
Voted anyway ;)
It's kinda hard to understand what the thin tentacles are doing, I think the thicker more obvious tentacles from the first couple of WIPs you posted down here work best, in my opinion. The idea that it's sucking the life or energy off something/someone is cooler and looks the best executed tbh.
Your use of high saturated colors within a bland pallet is unique and memerable. The only negative thing I can see in this is a few parts on its "arms" could use more anti-aliasing.
I'm expecting an outcome similer to this: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/challenge_item.asp?id=1224
SOM + MB was the last release I played. Sold 6 swords of feast and famine + mox + tezzaret I got in the top 1 15 busters award and etc...( I was the lucky one in the card shop, I chose the people's busters lol ) and when I was leaving somebody stole my wallet... I stopped playing after that =/.
I remember the combo I did on the release ;)
that artifact plains terrain -> memito -> hawk, memito back -> mox -> mnemito -> hawk -> mnemito back -> memito lol
2 turn: 5 damage on the face :p.
its not memito its something like that. Well, I had lots of fun on that time =)
when I started doing it I fought to myself: lets look for SOM references because it really looks like it, then I decided to go 100% my ideas.. well, I am glad u liked it.
This remind me Magic and the Mirrodin's saga, this is amazing.
its because I've started with another concept... I think I should change the direction of the head.
It looks very good, and finished, you took the advices regarding the sketchy part into account :)
Though in my opinion it barely apply to the weekly challenge : the "beast" looks more like a living being than a machine, and the source of power isn't obvious, it feels like you added the birds in a corner just so that this piece could enter the challenge. I mean, when I look at it, I see a giant centipede-thing eating animals, not a machine with an unusual source of power.
But well, great piece anyway
yes I am a fail with AA =/.. It actually failed a little because of the color count but thanks for your critiques.
style and composition in your work is developing a bit. i can pick out your works now pretty consistently. feels very war of the worlds in nature. i approve of the orange vs the green. AA is a little inconsistent (and overdone) in certain places, but hte color usage is very good.
He is capturing some birds and as you can see one of the tentacles are on his "belly" putting a bird there.
Thats amazing, although the AA on the little tenticle things in the top left isnt so great, and they kinda mess with the composition. They lead your eyes all over the place but for no reason so the brain losses interest. If the tenticles kinda swirled toward the face and brough the eyes toward the face of the creature I feel this piece would be much better :)
Edit: Man, this makes me wish I had time for pixel art again xc
While this looks nice, i have to say that the power source is in no way apparent in the image.
Good
