this is a new version with an original sprite, correct? if so then it's one step closer to admission, but there are a lot of colors. it seems like some sort of automatic tool was used to create the dirt/grime on the building, PJ is really strict about the use of any tool that adds pixels or colors in a way that the artist can't fully predict (blur, smudge, burn, etc)
i didn't use any automatic tool or brush for the dirt. just the pen tool, the filling tool and the rubber. i did in fact use a lot of different colors to create a natural/organic look. there sure are some parts that look sort of like jpg-artefacts, but the pixels just turned out like that when i used the rubber tool and i liked the look of it.
but i do often use the transparency setting of the tools, to get different shades of the same color. in this one i made the gradients at the top/bottom out of seperate layers of white/black with different transparency settings. also the shadow of the font uses transparency. is that not allowed as well?
what do i do to get this one approved? should i just use less colors? or is it the natural/organic look in general that looks iffy and the grime needs to be more destinct, more pixelated?
