I love tiny sprites and you pulled these off perfectly. I like how noisy you made the background, it's hard to do that right at this size.

I would submit at 2x if you're bummed about that. I do that a lot with small stuff.

This is really cool. Personally, I think it has a better style than Superbrothers. Their main character is a girl, but the 1px wide face makes that pretty impossible to recognize. These characters are very recognizable and even have recognizable expressions. I like it a lot!

Yeah, I was kinda bummed when I realized that. I guess it would work if it were a game though, and it had a very low screen resolution.

Very cool. It's hard to appreciate all the details when viewing actual size. :) Zoomed in it reminds me a bit of Swords & Sworcery. I'm really excited to see some animations for this!
