I knew it was yours Stava. I can just tell from the colors and shading!
It looks really fantastic! Great job.
But in that GIF you can see that Gohan's body almost has no shadows, while you chose to give him a good contrast on legs and clothes etc, so I don't understand why you left just the hair flat : o
The palette isn't the only thing making it cartoony, it's also the simplicity of stuff, and you are calling it flat, expecting me to add highlight to hair.. I've posted my reference, Gohan running from a dinosaurus, my style reference was Dragon Ball, Goku kid has no highlight on his hair..
I'm trying to use less colors, if I wanted to add shadows and detail everything not only will I end up dealing with a bunch of colors but also it'll lose the simple cartoony style I was going for..
Please don't say the clouds are 'lazy" since they took days to finish, redone them quite a few times trying to get the style I wanted, and this is exactly it.
The boys pose is referenced off the picture I posted.. and his left foot has 4 fingers ;_;
Well, it's not bad for sure, but it's got some errors in my opinion:
Some things look flat, like his hair (not even a little highlight!), the sword and flower (no shadows), his left arm looks weird, because of the position and shadow, it's basically flat! You should add some shadow to make it deeper, and maybe a soft light-blue highlight on the hand (sky light).
His scarf gradient is a little "too much" if you know what I mean. I mean, it's going from very dark to very light even if it's under his chin. There should be a little shadow on the middle too, right?
The pose is too much dispersive, I mean, his limbs are swinging in 4 different directions! He looks like he is falling on his side, instead of running away from the bee.
The grass is too flat, try adding some highlight on the top of the grass blades and some shadow on the ground between the blades.
The clouds are kinda lazy, I mean, they're entirely made from big circles, they look more like mist or something.
What's up with his left foot? Does he have just 3 fingers on it? It looks like a duck's foot, lol
I like the palette though, very cartoony.
