I was also confused about what it was :P But I really love the colours used and the expression on it c:

 The contrast and vibrance of the colors give it a very toon like effect. Very cool.

 I think switching the ends (so the withered flower is at bottom) would make it look more like a banana.

Looks more like a chili than a banana to me.

 Yeah, the colours and shape makes it look more like a pear than a banana. Also the "handle" at the bottom looks..wrong.
