True, I found it hard to find a reference image that showed the part of the eruption from the view I wanted, so I assumed that smaller would give the illusion of the flows being "in the distance" and therefore the detail of their shape is a bit smooth, I guess because I assumed they would follow the indentations and crags of the mountainside itself. If I get to redo anything on this it'll certainly be the lava : P
The way the fire fades as the edges is really nice. Cool colors as well. The rivulets of lava seem very thin and neat though, I have to think that's not how lava really behaves. It looks odd to me, at any rate.
I like the gradiation of the explosion a lot. Good work.
Well done! I love the way you used the same colors for the volcanos and the sky, but made them completely different by making the sky's dithering transition smooth, and the volcano a darker, more dramatic and sharper transition.
