i think the boots are done so as not to draw the eye by overworking them

these look great but the arms really need to be lengthened and the legs shortened, so as to fit proper proportion.  The shield also should be drawn more at an angle, so that it doesnt look like its floating there.  i love the style fo the coloring, keep it up!

btw the hands should fall mid-thigh, so you know

i can see what you are going for with the sword, but the effect need to be exaggerated more then this. try makin it twice as wide.. maybe more. allso the arms are weird. i think it'd help if you'd make the upper arms all in the shade, and the lower arms light

lastly, why only 2 colours on the boots?

The legs are a tad bit too long and the arms are way too short. The shield arm could be easily fixed by lowering the arm and shield down a bit. But the sword arm needs to almost double in size.

You did a great job with the sword and how it gets bigger as it comes closer to the front of the image.

The shading on the body and sword is great but the shield looks rather boring and dull.

Great job though!

nice, i like the shading, although the shield need some AAing. Also, i found his legs a bit large, and his arms a bit shorts, but maybe it's the perspective effect.
