Lovely, it looks like you spent I lot of time and effort on the leaves. The only thing that throws me off a bit is the trunk.

 Youre right, it does look like its glowing a bit. I kind of liked that effect, but I can see how it looks strange. I didnt even think of exposing the bark in those patches though I might experiment with that now.

my only question is the dark grey patches, it almost seems like they arn't dark enough. makes the tree look like its glowing from the inside. it just looks strange, because the shadow on the trunk is darker than the shadows inside the tree. the inside of the leaves would be much darker naturally because of the lack of light, compared to the exposed bark. ...if this was intended, then it looks very good.
