 You need to look at this as a 3D image. The lighting is inconsistant and highlights are equally spread throughout the image it makes it look flat. 

Very good though, really enjoy the design.

maybe it's i've issue with traditional base drawings, or doesn't matter?

lol thats no need XD... it can be a unique style aswell :P or intention... alot of old sprites follow this rule actually ^^ so its not a bad thing

The monster is fantastic.. but the 'platform' he's standing on seems very poorly and quickly done.
