This is some background for a little game I'm currently working on.
It's also my first serious attempt to do some pixel art.

[UPDATE 5/Feb/13] Did some serious color reduction and consolidation.
There have been lots of double palette entries before, from previously 218 the drawing is now down to 86 colors.
There should be no visible difference though.

[UPDATE 20/Jan/13] I've reworked the image as suggested by other pixeljoint members:
- the perspective shadow has been removed from garage entrance
- the house elements start all at the same bottomline to remove any perspective
- some antialiasing all over the image, especially for the diagonal roof lines
- the shadows are more blurred the further they are away from the object

SturmgewehrKreuz: I wanted to do the house totally flat with no perspective at all because it will be an orthogonal game. True, there is some perspective behind the grill doors which shouldn't be there. I'm gonna remove them.

k_e_t_t_e_l: it will not be centered in the background but only partially shown. I'll upload the full background as soon as it's ready to show what I mean :)

Nottartsydoc: point taken about the shadows, I'm going to correct this too.

I like how the shadow of the plant at the right of the doorway cast a blurry shadow, just like real life. My only complaint is the inconsistent shadow, it is either blurry or not (In some cases, it's fine. Blur should be proportional to the distance.). The roof in the center is a little jaggy, but I'm not complaining, because the only two solutions I can think of is to change the slope of the roof, which in turn can make or break the roof, or anti-aliasing.

This is really nice looking piece of pixel art! I like the palette and shadowing. Not sure how it's gonna look as a background though.

it's clean.

then i see the curving roof at the right part.clean the lines.it's jaggy.

EDIT:

there are jaggies in the roof (center part).fix it.

perspective's kinda messy. i could see the floor behind the grill doors, yet not on the front door steps.
