Anyway, I see why you used the solid black, but in terms of definition, you'll have to waive a couple of things for the sake of definition. To that end, instead of only using black, try adding some darker shades of gray. That way, itstays black as the intial assumption while creating some more depth for the legs.
This is only a suggestion, though, and should be taken as such.
