Got thinking old school and came up with this silly picture while designing a couple of characters for a game idea I have..........
I would really love to see a dungeon explorer game, with lots of hidden secrets, traps, monsters, chests, gold, etc, etc, etc, but done in a side on 2D old school 8bit style and humour thrown in for good measure all dispayed at a beautiful 4X pixel ratio.
I imagine this game to have all the usual things that an RPG has; like XP for levelling up and various rolled stats that can be tweaked on character generation, the usual playable race types; Human, Dwarf, Elf, Dark Elf, Halfling plus a few different ones like Orcs and Goblins.
Then classes such as Mage, Warrior, Thief, Assassin, Ranger and so on.....
Play style would be akin to the castlevania platform style with side on view, but the difference would be randomly generated dungeons.
Each class/race would have different abillities too such as a thief class would jump higher and further due to high agility and training, The warrior not so good at jumping due to weight, but a tank when it cames to melee attacks, The Ranger obviously would have bow and arrow for ranged attacks and the assassin would have sneak/backstab attack plus a grapling crossbow for climbing hard to reach platforms.
Add to that a fortune in gold and treasure to find, magical items and weapons plus a horde of hideous monsters and nasties to slay!!!
Sounds good doesn't it?
Pity that I have no coding skills whatsoever.........oh well I can still dream!!
Hope you like the pic, crits and comments welcome as always!! |
I love it! This is great :)
