Nice rocks indeed! It took me a while to notice it was a looping tile, since it is long, and eliminates the grid. Small crit is that there are two straight lines going through them.
Also I agree with Carnivac, I had to open the image in a new tab to see what he was talking about.

Looks good! I'm guessing you've played Mega Man 2 before.
Might want to either reupload it as 1x1 or chop out some of the middle to condense it cos I didn't realise there was action on the far right at first as it gets cut off by PJ's frame.
Anyways it looks like a fun game.
It does look very nes stylish. Great job on the rocks but the leaves look kind of funny, but still those rocks/dirt
