First thing I'm going to suggest is doing away with the harsh black outlines. Try some AA, it'll look much more eye appealing.

Secondly, there is something off about the weapons on both figures. I believe there should be more contrast in the colors you used for silver/white on both weapons and you should have more definitive linework to show the details of the gun more clearly. The curve of your sword is also a bit much even if it were a katana (japanese sword). Try moving the hand that's gripping the handle up a few rows in order to give the sword a more believable look.

Hats off to your determination to tackle pixel art again, not many would find the willpower to do so. Looking forward to seeing more of your work in the gallery :)
