This looks better than your previous pieces, but still somewhat unfinished.

I think you're attempting too ambitiously large pieces at this point, thus removing any possibility of the pixel-level control we all strive for ;)
The palette is too big too: many of those colors are unnecessarily close. Recycling colors (instead of using separate sub-palettes in the 2 parts) would help both managing the palette and unifying the piece.
Also there isn't a real feeling that the ground level (or most of it) is in the shadow of the spacecraft.
