I knew about my messy color palette previously ... it was not my main target to use as less colors as possible but to get a satisfying result.
But for future pixels I plan to put more focus on tweaking.

This is great. I think that the colour count is fine... it makes the guy really pop, he's bright and vibrant. It seems like a stylistic decision and that's worth breaking some 'rules' for.
The version with the bg is even better, nice first upload!

There is a stray pixel to the right.
I feel like you could lower the color count from 62, you can click here to see what I mean. Any two colors that are similar can be replaced by one color, and it really helps to bring the piece together.
Those two things aside, this is a great first entry.
This is an amazing piece. Why care about color count if it looks very very nice the way it is. Rules are mean't to be broken.
