Some red, cream, and light brown mushroms I made for a game I'm developing.
Top Row: Fly agaric (poisonous), edible boletus (edible), calcocybe ganbosa (edible)
Middle Row: Fly agaric (posionous), false parasol (poisonous), destroying angel (poisonous)
Bottom Row: Morel (edible), hygrophorus coccineus (edible), fairy ring champignon (edible)
The colorings on the calcocybe ganbosa/destroying angel and false parasol/fairy ring champignon are supposed to be similar. The idea is that players can eat whatever mushrooms they like, but that most will avoid look-alikes until levelling up their Nature Knowledge skill (a secret skill that can be levelled by correctly identifying various plants or fungi). This skill, if high enough, will allow the character to automatically identify plants/animals. So, the similarities will be a big pain in the meantime, but shouldn't worry nature-savvy individuals in the long run. ;)
I'll probably redo these at some point. Comments/critiques welcome. |
I'm lovin' them!
