Also, I think you could really conserve colors more. Mary could be broguht down to 7 or 8 colors without losing anything, I think.

This is very cool coincidence. I have just started pixelling biblical scenes this week!

The others characters aren't so closely based on the same kind of iconography but they have a similar pixel aesthetic thats extrapolated from this image.

 I'm sure you don't mean iconoclastic paintings, as that's an oxymoron. Would like to see a group of these, would be fun to play who's-who.
