The bit on the left isn't a full mock up. Just a sprite/tile test to show the character displayed in the portraits. The game has a NES-sized screen.
Both the mockup and portriat look great, but how does the portriat fit on the screen? It covers everything while it's up? Anyway, great work.
Well, as a fan of Bruce Campbell his features are pretty familar to me so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some resemblance though not intentional at the time. :P
Is it just me or this guy looks a lot like Bruce Campbell? :P
Beautiful work!
This is great work. I honestly am more drawn to the tiny people than to the portrait - not because the portrait is bad but because you conveyed so much detail in so little space with those character sprites.
Thanks. I'm glad they are. I really enjoy trying to make the most out of small sprites.
This project still uses the same custom NES palette (realityC) that I chose for it way back at end of 2006. Took a while to get a hang of some of the colours and play around with different ramps but I like it a lot.
Been a while since anyone's called me that. And bah, is my work that obvious? :P
the colors are really nice. Do you have a palette for these or do you just make the palette as you go?
Instantly recognized who it was by the style, nice work Wolvie :3
I'm impressed with the sprites readability given the 16 pixel height.
That makes sense. I'd love to see a full mock up then.
