You?
You made the grahics for this ST game? yeah!!!!! so nice!!
Jok: oops, didn't notice your message was from 2013! I thought it was from last month
I usually also use Grafx2/Promotion on PC and Dpaint /Synthetic Arts on ST or emulator for the palette tweaks.
exocet: thanks!
- it was year ago, picture for outline was diseaster anyway
i set my workflow alredy to:
grafx2 on mac, dpaint on atari and brilliance on amiga (sometimes promotion on pc) and it works pretty well for me
sorry for spamming here ;)
Yeah I enjoyed doing it. Something different for me but still nice and retro. I haven't heard from the programmer in a while. Think he wanted me to pixel the lil guy in some different poses but I was pretty busy at the time.
I saw a video preview of that game a few months ago, didn't know you were behind the graphics. It looks super nice for the ST, you've really done a great job with the limited palette. Can't wait to play the game!
I did not see that before... :O it's amazing what you did with 16 colors
I can't seem to find it on my computer anymore. You could try asking at atari-forum.com for help with this as there are plenty of Atari experts there including the programmer of this game
Thanks a lot!!!
But links at program (Degas) page seems dead. Have you, or mentioned programmer a copy maybe?
I didn't know much at the time but the programmer said I could use whatever program I like (I often use a mixture of Pro Motion and Paint Shop Pro 7) and then import the picture into a program called Degas Elite XL which is basically a PC program for Atari graphics or something and it adjusts the colours to match what the Atari actually has. Some tweaking is necessary to get best results.
looks much nicer than the actual bejeweled in my opinion. Really nice job with the palette. Works really good on the bricks.
Damn those gems look fabulous. Fantastic job sir. Very reminiscent of Bejeweled XD
btw, where can i find this st/ste palette? I plan to draw picture for outline demoparty with ste restrictions (320x200x16 from ste palette)
And there is a specific tool for ste gfx?
For me would be prefect to have this palette to work in brilliance or promotion
I think the lack of a brown would put some people off. The palette was mostly designed for this specific project but when pixelling the little scene in the bottom right it made me think it could be suitable for lil platform game or something like that.
Ah you're probably right now I look at it but I don't think it's that bad enough to change things at this stage. Thanks though.
You did an excellent job stretching those 16 colours. One crit I would have is that the orbs are overaa'd
A new prolific 16 colour palette? Such as the Dawnbringer famous 16 colour palette perhaps.
"Atari's 512 palette. Came up with a 16 color palette I felt gave a lot of flexibility for different ramps to give the impression there's a bit more than 16."
And you did just that.
I kinda noticed the irony about how little you were uploading, don't underestimate my lurking power But I was sincere :p
Pretty much the jewel in the crown for the last few weeks of pixel art.
whoops.. no pun intended
AS much as I like it, and I really do. It is hard to look at because it's like every piece screams at me LOOT AT ME, LOOK AT ME. Don't know whether that is good or not...
I never realized the ST was capable of this quality of visuals.
Love those bricks.
Really love how the gems look.
I also like to see you submitting pieces.
hehe. yeah my tag down to 8 pixels high and in using matching colors from this game's palette. it's part of the game assests so i felt like putting it there for fun
i KNEW it was yours when I saw the preview! Oh wait...
Nice, and keep on overloading!
Heh, well it was more of a sarcastic self-deprecating comment on how little I upload stuff (if you look at the dates on my gallery) but thank you
Thanks. They ain't pearls though so not meant to be completely round.
I wouldn't mind PJ being overloaded with your stuff.
Awesome colors and work on the gems <3
Thanks :)
