I made this one a few months ago- not that long ago.

I used Greyscale and I haven't improved on pixeling to much so if you have any tips or constructive criticism they would be much appreciated!

 Thanks so much for the tutorial. I'll be sure to use it. The pixel was actually meant to be some random creature but I think I went a little to far on the design.

Definitely looks like some soft tool was used, or else you saved individual frames as jpegs.
Never use jpeg for pixel art! png or gif are what you need. You can also save working stages as bmp or tiff so you don't lose your work in case of mistake ;)

However the main problem with this piece is readability. I'm not sure at all what I'm looking at.
