I may need to work on making the explosion more "gooey". Also, the acid bullets should fly further out when they pop, in the actual game.

I too feel the explosion feels like the fly is tearing through some baloon cloth and flying off. Still neat though.
It gives you this nice and oldschool gaming feeling I like to see in Pixel art. Good job.
I bet it is going to be a lot of fun to pop some of those suckers with a bullet or two.
