Thanks. Yeah it's pixels. I'm a painter so I just applied the way I would make a still life when I paint but using pixel art techniques.

 Maybe. But I'm basically painting with pixels so I don't really care about how many colors there are. Edit: Every single pixel in this painting was added by hand, btw.

I think something may have happened with your colours as there is 48 colours here and many of them are nigh on impossible to distinguish from each other.
