if i was a cooler man there would be so many ninjas on that train cannon, but alas
Man, the lighting of this scene makes it look so tense and dramatic...I can't help but feel that ninjas are gonna jump out of nowhere and start up an action sequence on the cannon.
It used to have static smoke but I got rid of it because the cannon was in the way and I wasn't sure how to handle it.
I just thought, some smoke billowing from the exhaust chimneys would be really cool.
I actually prefer the fact it doesn't jiggle. While on a normal train the back cariages and couplings would move back and forth slightly, here there is a massive cannon branching between the two that would keep it stabalised. The no jiggling helps it feel like it's lumbering along rather than racing across the tracks.
What bothers me is how you animated the cables, it feels more than a little unnatural and the animation creates jaggies at the same time.
It has a really "weighty" feeling to it. I think moving the body pieces would remove that. I feel like it needs a banner or a flag or something though.
I thought about making the body of the train jiggle a bit but I felt moving it even by one pixel was too pronouced.
You should make the train cars jiggle back and forth a bit. I also like the character on top.
Being a paragon of hard work I chose not to make the background scroll because I didn't feel like it, and I found out that making things scroll manually is tedious work.
amazing
