This started out being a desert and was meant for the weekly challenge but as you can see it has turned out quite differently.

I don't know if this happens with everyone but for some reason when I'm viewing it in GIMP it seems to look nicer :/ (though it may just be me...).

Edit: I tried fixing up this piece byt adding some rocks and trees but they didn't look to good. I don't think I'm gonna try to fix it up anymore because I'm not really getting a good feeling (possibly I'm getting bored of this piece...) when I try to work on it.

Oh wow, I forgot about this piece. Feels like it's been a lot longer than just 2 years since I made this :O

Time travel is freaky ;)

Yeah, good point. I think I'm gonna see how a horizon line looks and I might possibly try adding trees dotted along the hills. I realize now that I also need to work on smoothing out some of the hills. I'll try to get around to fixing it today, hopefully it'll look better.

You're missing a horizon line, that's the most glaring issue. you're also not utilizing atmospheric perspective on the hills. Solving those two issues should help add perspective and depth. The scene could also use visual interest as it's pretty barren. Get loose with those cloud shapes, add some plants and rocks, etc. Also composition is odd, your focal point is cut in half abruptly.

Aha! I'm glad you noticed, the castle was very much inspired by Skeddles work.

I'm trying to work on the grass, right now I'm trying out a Pokemon type grass set but I think I'm gonna try to make my own.

The castle reminds me of Skeddles "Distant Lands" piece. I like it, it looks very whimsical, but I agree with TombReaper, you should definitely add some detail/texture to the hills and road.

I know what you mean, I think the matter of so little details may be possibly due to my laziness :/. I think that I'm gonna try to edit it though, thanks from mentioning this matter, if you did not mention it I mightv'eitever actually ttaken it into do sideration.

I really like the castle, but the hills and the road could use some details (like grass on the hills, and maybe some tiles for the road).
